IHow it works

From manuscript to voice

Great books shouldn’t wait decades for a translator. We combine the public domain of world literature with modern technology — so the classics can speak Serbian.

  1. 01

    Public domain

We select masterpieces whose copyright has expired — a literary treasure that belongs to everyone.

  2. 02

    Translation

Advanced AI models translate the original into modern, fluent Serbian, faithful to the spirit of the work.

  3. 03

    Voice

Natural AI voices turn the translation into an audiobook — warm, clear and unhurried.

  4. 04

    You

Listen on your commute, read before bed. Your progress waits for you on every device.

IIExperience

Made for listening. And for reading.

Everything you expect from a world-class player and reader — no ads, no noise, just you and the book.

Downloaded

Uninterrupted listening

Background playback, lock-screen controls and offline downloads. Your book goes with you, even without internet.

Your pace

Speed from 0.5× to 3× and skip back or forward with a single tap.

Sleep timer

Fall asleep to a story. Playback fades out exactly when you say — or at the end of the chapter.

An elegant reader

Paper, sepia or night mode, adjustable type size and a typeface designed for long reading.

Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.

VIIFAQ

Frequently asked questions

Questions and suggestions: podrska@knjiglas.com

Is Knjiglas really free?
Yes. During launch the entire library and all features are free, without entering a card. Later we will introduce a subscription with a free trial, and we will let you know well in advance.
Who translates and reads the books?
Books are translated by advanced AI models and read by natural AI voices. That way, classics that haven’t had a modern translation for decades finally reach Serbian readers and listeners.
Why classics?
We choose works in the public domain — their copyright has expired, so we can freely translate and share them. These works are the foundation of world literature.
Can I listen offline?
You can. Download a book in the app and listen or read anywhere — on a plane, in the mountains, on the subway. Progress syncs as soon as you reconnect.
Is the app safe for kids?
The kids corner shows only content for the youngest, matched to the age you choose. Leaving kids mode is protected by a parental PIN, and you can also set a daily limit.
How does voting work?
Every user has three votes to spread across suggestions. The books with the most votes go into translation. When a book arrives in the library, your votes are freed for new suggestions.
Which devices are supported?
Knjiglas is coming to iPhone, iPad and Android. One account, the same progress on every device.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account. You can also do it on the web, on the account deletion page.

Every book has a voice.

Get Knjiglas and let the classics tell their stories — in Serbian.
