Terms of use

These terms of use govern your use of the Knjiglas mobile app and the knjiglas.com website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you confirm that you have read and accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.

1. What Knjiglas is

Knjiglas is a platform for listening to and reading works of world and Serbian literature that are in the public domain. We translate the works into Serbian and turn them into audiobooks using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The Service includes audiobooks, e-books, a kids corner with parental controls and community voting on which works we translate next.

2. Your account

• You need an account to use the Service fully. You must provide accurate information when you register and keep your password safe.
• If you are under 15, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. Kids mode is designed for children and is managed by a parent through their own account.
• Your account is personal and may not be transferred or shared, except within family plans once they become available.
• If you notice unauthorized use of your account, contact us immediately.

3. Free launch and future subscriptions

During the launch period the Service is free and we do not ask for payment details. We plan to introduce paid plans later (such as a monthly or family subscription with a free trial). We will notify you well in advance, and no payment will ever be charged without your explicit consent. Some titles may remain free after the launch.

4. Content and intellectual property

• The original works we publish are in the public domain. Translations, narrations, illustrations, covers, texts and the design of the Service are protected by the rights of Knjiglas or our partners.
• You may use the content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Copying, public performance, redistribution, resale or extracting downloaded files from the app is not permitted.
• Downloaded content is for offline listening and reading within the app and remains available while your account is active.

5. AI translation and narration

Translations and narration are produced with AI models. We work to keep them faithful to the original and pleasant to listen to, but they may contain inaccuracies, awkward phrasing or pronunciation mistakes. The Service is not a scholarly or critical edition of the works. If you spot a mistake, let us know — we will gladly fix it.

6. Voting and suggestions

Book suggestions you submit must be appropriate and refer to real works. We may moderate, reject or remove suggestions. Voting results help us choose titles but do not oblige us to translate a particular work or to do so within a particular time.

7. Kids mode and parental controls

Kids mode shows only content intended for children, according to the age a parent selects, and leaving it is protected by a PIN. The parent or guardian is responsible for the settings, for keeping the PIN safe and for supervising the child’s use of the Service.

8. Acceptable use

You may not disrupt the Service, circumvent its protections, scrape content automatically, use other people’s accounts or otherwise misuse the Service. If these terms are breached, we may temporarily or permanently restrict access to the account.

9. Availability

We work to keep the Service reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available without interruptions or errors. Features and the catalog may change, and individual titles may be added or removed.

10. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the Republic of Serbia.

11. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account) or on the account deletion page. Deleting your account permanently deletes the associated data, as described in the privacy policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes in the app or by email before they take effect. By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia. We will try to resolve any dispute amicably; otherwise, the competent court in the Republic of Serbia will have jurisdiction.
